If there is a God, why is there hurt and pain?

It might appear that there is no end to the suffering, hurt and pain in this world.

In the beginning God created a perfect world, full of life – without death, disease, pain or suffering.  However when sin was introduced by Adam and Eve through their disobedience so did the natural state of a perfect world change so much that what we see today is only a reflection of the world that once was.

Of course, also none of us can say that we have not disobey God in our own lives (Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:10).  So all of us in a sense share in the blame of what we see around us.  God, however, in his great mercy has promised not to leave his creation suffering alone. (Revelation 22:23)

Becoming a true christian

Regardless of how we appear to others, God’s sees our heart, the true aspects of us.  He sees our lives, from beginning to end, and because He loves us he works all things in and through our lives for his glory.  To become a true Christian you must firstly asked God for forgiveness of all your sins and ask him for a true understanding of Him, by placing him first in your life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him.
And He will make your path straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes.
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil – Proverbs 3:5-7

Everything you will ever need is all ready yours in Jesus Christ once you become a Christian.  Giving yourself to Him doesn’t mean you will come out with less.  It means you will come out with the best.  When we give ourselves to God, He always gives us much more in return.

When you become a Christian, it doesn’t mean that you will never have trouble and pain.  Life at its best is not without trouble and pain however accepting this knowledge of God’s perfect sacrifice for our sins, this will lead to a deeper wisdom of God’s grace which through the trials of life, our Heavenly Father teaches and directs us.  He also said that he would never leave us or forsake us and that all things work together for the good to them that love him.

(Joshua 1:5; Galatians 2:20; Romans 8:28)

What is a christian?

A Christian is a person who follows Christ.  In other words, it is a person who believes that Jesus Christ was the son of God and died for our sins.  Being a Christian is someone who is on a journey in this life to get to know God more in a real and personal way, having a relationship with him and being an imitator of him before going to meet him in the eternally life.
