FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

YES – and there are so many examples of how he shows his love for you.

God is always ready and willing to listen to you no matter what time or day it is, all you have to do is talk to him.  (Psalm 50:15; Jeremiah 29:12&13)

No matter how bad you feel or the actions you may have done, He is the one person who is ready to forgive you, help you, heal you and will support you through whatever life seems to have thrown at you.  The bible says that He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (John 15:14&15; Proverbs 18:24)

God loves you and cares about you, now and your future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

The Bible tells us so–

  • 1 John 4 v16‘And so we know and rely on the love God has for us’
  • 1 John 4v19 ‘We love because he first love us’

(Deuteronomy 7:8; Ephesians 1:4; Romans 8:39)

In fact:

God loves you so much that he doesn’t leave you without hope.  (Colossian 1:5; Romans 15:13)

God loves you so much that he sent his one and only son to die for your sins so that when you ask God for true forgiveness of your wrong doings (sin) and you receive Him as your Lord and Saviour, to be the God of your Life than He can do this.  Not only is God willing and able to forgive you but He welcomes you into His family and calls you His. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:16; 1 John 4:7-21; Psalm 68:6)

God’s prefect creation was corrupted by Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God.  This disobedience brought sin and death into the world.  Because of their disobedience, and because we have all personally sinned, we are all deserving of the death penalty and need a Saviour.

When gave Moses the law, people began to see that they could never measure up to God’s standard of perfection (Romans 3:20).  If they broke any part of the Law, the result was the same as if they had broke the whole lot (James 2:10).   They needed Someone to take away their imperfection and present them flawless before God’s throne (Romans 5:9; 1 Peter 3:18).

There are no good works good enough to cleanse you or make you Holy before a Holy God.  But God did not leave his precious, but corrupted, creation without hope.  He promised to send Someone one day who would take this penalty of sin away.  Just as God has a purpose and plan for everything and everyone, so He send His promised Saviour at just the right time (Galatians 4:4) This was his Son Jesus, who is perfect as well as infinite to take away the infinite penalty for sin.  (Genesis 3:15; Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23)

The Bible says that if we confess our sins (wrong doings) and are truly sorry than God is faithful and just to forgive us of those sins.  All those who believe in Him will be saved from the ultimate penalty for sin (which is eternal separation from God), and will live with Him forever.

When we believe in Jesus Christ and understand what He has done for us, we are passed from death into life (John 5:24).  The names of those who receive Him are written in the Lambs Book of Life (Revelation 13:8, 17:8).  When those who believe die, we go to be with him forever.

(1 John 1:9&10; 1 Peter 1:2; Ephesians 1:7; Acts 3:19; Psalm 32:5; Proverbs 28:13)

To answer this question; and basing the answer on the Holy Bible being true; if you read Luke 3, it tells how John the Baptist was preaching a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins as according to the prophet Isaiah.  In verse 15 and 16 it says that the people were waiting and wondering if he was possibly the Christ that the prophets had spoken of.  John answers this by saying ‘‘I baptise you with water, but one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.  He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.’’ Jesus went to be baptised also and as he prayed, heaven opened, the Holy Spirit rested on him in bodily form like a dove and a voice from Heaven came saying ‘You are my Son, whom I love: with you I am well pleased’.

In Mark 8:27-33, Jesus himself asked his disciples a vital question – Who do men say that I am and who do you say that I am?  People then, as now, had all kinds of opinions on who Jesus was however all agreed that He was a great teacher or even a mighty man of God, even being compared with the greatest of the prophets, John the Baptist, Elijah, and Jeremiah.  It was Peter who was the first apostle to recognize Jesus as the Anointed One (Messiah and Christ). Christ is the Greek word for the Hebrew word Messiah, which means Anointed One

A Christian is a person who follows Christ.  In other words, it is a person who believes that Jesus Christ was the son of God and died for our sins.  Being a Christian is someone who is on a journey in this life to get to know God more in a real and personal way, having a relationship with him and being an imitator of him before going to meet him in the eternally life.

Regardless of how we appear to others, God’s sees our heart, the true aspects of us.  He sees our lives, from beginning to end, and because He loves us he works all things in and through our lives for his glory.  To become a true Christian you must firstly asked God for forgiveness of all your sins and ask him for a true understanding of Him, by placing him first in your life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him.
And He will make your path straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes.
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil – Proverbs 3:5-7

Everything you will ever need is all ready yours in Jesus Christ once you become a Christian.  Giving yourself to Him doesn’t mean you will come out with less.  It means you will come out with the best.  When we give ourselves to God, He always gives us much more in return.

When you become a Christian, it doesn’t mean that you will never have trouble and pain.  Life at its best is not without trouble and pain however accepting this knowledge of God’s perfect sacrifice for our sins, this will lead to a deeper wisdom of God’s grace which through the trials of life, our Heavenly Father teaches and directs us.  He also said that he would never leave us or forsake us and that all things work together for the good to them that love him.

(Joshua 1:5; Galatians 2:20; Romans 8:28)

All your sins are forgiven (Acts 13:38)

You become a member of God’s Family (John 1:12)

You receive eternal life (Romans 6:23)

God the Holy Spirit comes into your life to help you life for Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:16)

Your name is written in Heaven (Revelation 21:27)

Guide you – He has a plan for your life (Proverbs 3:6)

Help you through temptation… remember temptation is not sin, only when you give into it (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Take care of you – Your Heavenly Father wants you to trust Him even when things are difficult (1 Peter 5:7)

Give you strength to life for Him (Philippians 4:13)

Love you with an everlasting Love

The Bible principally teaches what man is to believe concerning God and what duty God requires of man. (2 Timothy 1:13, 2 Timothy 3:16)

It might appear that there is no end to the suffering, hurt and pain in this world.

In the beginning God created a perfect world, full of life – without death, disease, pain or suffering.  However when sin was introduced by Adam and Eve through their disobedience so did the natural state of a perfect world change so much that what we see today is only a reflection of the world that once was.

Of course, also none of us can say that we have not disobey God in our own lives (Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:10).  So all of us in a sense share in the blame of what we see around us.  God, however, in his great mercy has promised not to leave his creation suffering alone. (Revelation 22:23)

There are.  But there is only one True and Living God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Jeremiah 10:10)
